Since immigrating to Canada in 2011, Tony has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia. Tony uses an education and client-centered exercise approach to Physiotherapy sessions. Prior to Canada, Tony was a high-level baseball player training under major league organizations in the Dominican Republic until deciding to pursue further education. Since then, Tony has volunteered to work with MLB teams’ athletic therapists in the Dominican Republic, worked with the Vikes’ athletics at the university of Victoria as a Kinesiology student, and worked in Victoria, B.C. as a Kinesiologist.
Now, Tony works as a Physiotherapist in active neighbourhoods such as Kitsilano and Main Street, while also empowering the lives of many injured and elderly with home visits. Tony’s clinical experience includes sports injuries, ergonomic assessments, total knee and hip replacements, Parkinson’s disease, and falls prevention, among others.
In his spare time Tony enjoys exploring new cooking and baking recipes with his wife, volunteering at his church, keeping up with the latest technology, and working up a sweat in the beautiful outdoors of BC. Tony is fluent in English and Spanish and works on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Ryan Wanaguru graduated from Sydney University in 2008 with a degree in Physiotherapy. From there he worked in hospitals and private practice learning from the best in the business. He moved to Vancouver in 2012 were he has worked at Vancouver General Hospital and in private clinics. Ryan was certified to perform dry needling/IMS in 2017.
Ryan is also a very active person. He ran the 2013 BMO marathon in Vancouver, cycled solo from London to Paris in 2011 and from Marseille to Milan in 2018. He runs, plays golf, tennis and just about any sport. Ryan has been injured many times just like you, so he knows what you're going through and how to get healthy and ready to perform!
Ryan's personal goal this year is to do a 1km open water swim – wish him luck!
